Youngest daughter of Nelson Bay’s Offshore Powerboat racer Bruce Sanders, Codie Sanders made a successful circuit racing debut at Raymond Terrace on November 13.

10 year-old Codie drove her junior circuit race boat to become overall ‘Champion of the Day’, after placing in five out of the six races held on the day.

“Racing was tight all day, with all junior boat drivers applying themselves to the task, it was not a cut and dry result,” said Bruce Sanders.

“All the kids drove like pros; it was more exciting than watching any of the main event races.

“The kids thrived on the competition and at the end of the day, it was all about how much fun they had and not about who came first or last”
